The Tatnell Family know better than most that Cancer is a rapidly growing crisis in world health, and with their own raw and recent experiences with George’s cancer diagnosis the opportunity to participate in the “Relay for Life” on April 28 is not to be missed.
“The GT All Stars” will enter a team of family and friends at the Sutherland Shire’s “Relay for Life” which ironically falls on George Tatnell’s 68th birthday – Saturday, April 28.
Gaile, Kelly and Val Tatnell are now in the process of raising money to go towards their participation in the Relay for Life with all proceeds going to cancer research an opportunity to honour those people who have suffered cancer and emerged from the experience,” says Gaile Gleeson (Tatnell). On the night candles will be lit as a symbol of remembrance for those who have passed away, and as a show of support for people who continue to fight the disease.”
Not surprisingly, Brooke Tatnell is also right behind the initiative and has offered a special auction prize to aid in the Tatnell fundraising efforts whilst he is still racing in the USA.
“As you know, we all want to do as much as we can to assist in raising as much money and awareness for the Relay for Life,” Brooke said over the phone this week, “I want to put up the race suit I wore when I had my first World of Outlaws A-Main feature win at Jetmore as an auction piece. And I’ll also throw in the trophy that they presented me with for doing so. I think it represents a significant piece of Australian Sprintcar history and I hope people bid with passion for the prize because it all goes to a great cause.”
Depending on his condition at the time, the legendary George Tatnell himself hopes to participate in The Relay for Life at Sutherland Shire on April 28.
It’s a 24 hour walkathon involving teams of relay walkers who will pay tribute to cancer patients and raise important funds.
