A few new items...

I know, the updates are few and far between. However the light is at the end of the tunnel. We're almost done with October, and if I can survive through December, hopefully I won't have any classes getting in the way of my race coverage after the first of the year.

-The 20th Annual Short Track Nationals begins at Little Rock’s I-30 Speedway on Thursday. I would love to make that event, but school conflicts will keep me home. Maybe next year.

So far there are 103 cars entered in what has become one of the preeminent 360 events of the season. Among them are local drivers Jay Russell, Jack Dover, Mike Boston, Stu Snyder, and Don Droud Jr.

It’s definitely a stout looking field and should be an entertaining race.

-It’s official; Nebraska will see a new open wheel series in 2008. The Midwest Sprint Warriors will make their debut at Junction Motor Speedway on April 26th. So far, 8 shows have been scheduled for JMS, with the possibility of a few more at some alternate venues.

The new series will run 305s, and is being organized by racer Gregg Bolte. For more information visit their site; www.midwestsprintwarriors.com. More details to follow.

-Racing siblings Jack and Trish Dover have a newly re-designed website at www.teamdover.com.

-A blue oval actually won in sprint cars this year. Johnn Cressman won Huset’s Speedway 360 track championship, running a Ford powered car.

-Is anyone else ready for the Chili Bowl? It runs from January 8-12, 2008 at the Expo Raceway in Tulsa.
