SILVER CROWN MEETING FOSTERS NEW DIRECTION

Principals involved in the United States Auto Club's K & N Silver Crown Championship Series met at USAC Headquarters in Speedway, Ind. Monday to discuss series strategy and implement ideas aimed at strengthening the series and creating a business plan designed to ensure its future success.
USAC President Kevin Miller and Senior VP of Race Operations Jason Smith presided over the meeting which included car owners, builders, team members and other interested parties.
Discussion centered on the state of the series and its future, with positive input expected to generate an announcement regarding details of the new business plan by February 1.
"We were encouraged by the cooperatve attitude of the attendees," said Miller. "We discussed several options and received valuable input which will help lead us to decisions regarding the future direction of this series."
The 2008 USAC K & N Silver Crown Series schedule is nearing completion and is expected to released soon. The 2009 schedule is already in the discussion stages and plans are to solidify those dates as soon as possible to assure continuation and expansion of this most competitive form of motorsports.
"We recognize the need for a new business strategy to ensure the success of our premier racing series and reward its participants, while producing the best possible product for our series sponsors and associates," added Smith. "We are excited about the renewed enthusiasm exhibited at this meeting and look forward to elevating our operations to meet our participants' expectations."
