This just in from the "what were they thinking?" department...


Long time midget veteran and Sprint Car and Midget Racing magazine columnist Kevin Olson certainly turned a few heads when he "went old school" on Saturday afternoon.

I'm a fan of KO's columns, and I respect what he's done in midget racing, but I have to question the wisdom of racing without wearing a full firesuit. Cars are much safer now,
and fires are not as common, but it only takes one time...Why take a chance?
That's how I feel about it.
I'm sure this will make for an interesting column in an upcoming issue of Sprint Car.
