COMMENTARY-Belleville Nationals, Night #1
Now THAT was fun! Bobby East dominated the 25 lap feature, leading flag-to-flag and positioning himself to win his second Belleville Nationals Championship.
My Take...
-Yep, the Klatt/East team is carrying not only the Ford colors this weekend, but that of Moses Motor Company and Oval Operations.
East qualified seventh, used a nice move on the first lap to take the lead in the heat, and finished runner-up in the dash.
At the start of the feature, East once again used an opening lap slide to take control of the lead for good. He would not be challenged for the remainder of the feature.
-Following East was Bryan Clauson in second and Brad Sweet in third. A pair of first time team and driver combinations had excellent debuts. Davey Ray running for RFMS Racing started on the pole and finished fourth. Darren Hagan running for Steve Lewis finished fifth.
Brad Loyet finished sixth, and was the last to be locked in to tonight's championship feature.
-The feature wasn't much of a race, and honestly, I was watching East and didn't pay much attention to the rest of the field. Not the most complete coverage, I know.
-Tonight I head back to Belleville, and then it's off to Knoxville tomorrow morning.
-I'm not sure if I'll be able to update on a regular basis once I'm in Iowa. I'll be busy with NOS promotions at the Brodix 360 Tournament of Champions, and the Nationals.
