COMMENTARY-Weekend Recap
Where did the season go? I have only one race night left in August, and with only two planned shows in September, the season is quickly coming to and end.
My take...
-Jack Dover was again victorious at Eagle on Saturday. Once again, Dover was able to hold off a hard charging Mike Boston for the victory.
-Four feature wins in a row is a rare achievement, but we've seen it twice this season at Eagle. Mike Boston did it back in mid-June through early July, and now Dover.
-Rookie Nick Clifford has come a long way in 2008, and finished third on Saturday. He led several laps in the early stages of the feature. It won't be long before Clifford is winning features.
Clifford was followed by Jason Danley in fourth and Josh Riggins fifth.
I can't remember the last time Danley finished outside of the top five.
-Not a lot of new items to report from Eagle. It was just another enjoyable night to be at the races.
-Billy Alley won the 30th Annual Kemna-Asa Nationals at the Jackson Speedway in Minnesota on Saturday. Brian Brown was second, Wayne Johnson third, Gregg Bakker fourth and Johnn Cressman fifth.
-Matthew Stelzer had some bad luck this weekend in the 305 portion of the Kemna-Asa Nationals on Friday night. Stelzer was collected when a car spun out directly in front of him, ending his night and severely damaging his car.
Stelzer has plans of putting a new car together for the 305 show during the Late Model Nationals at Knoxville Raceway in late September.
And Finally...
There aren't a lot of things that could keep me from a race on a Saturday night, but this weekend I'm taking the plunge and getting married!
See ya on the 31st!
