Chili Bowl Trends
With over 100 entries, Spike Chassis is once again the preferred brand at this year's Chili Bowl. Stealth comes in second with nearly 60 entries. Keith Kunz's Bullet Chassis is third with 16 cars, Ellis Chassis fourth at 15, and Beast Chassis rounds out the top five with 12 cars entered.
There are many other chassis represented including Twister/F5, Maxim, FSC, Triple X, Buzzard, DRC and Edmunds.
There is also a diverse field of engines represented. Esslinger leads the way with 83 cars running their overhead cam "Ford". Fontana comes in second with 37 entries, plus several other derivatives. Mopar will power over 20 cars, Toyota has 12. There is a large number of Ford and Chevy based OHV engine configurations, sprinkled in are some Pontiacs, a Honda and a SHO Ford V6. There's a little something for everyone.
One interesting note is Choctaw Oklahoma driver Cody Brewer is listed as running an "Offy". It will be interesting to see what is under the hood of that car when they unload.
