Around the Indy Racing League...
-Buddy Rice and Sarah Fischer of Dryer and Reinbold Racing are the first drivers to officially enter the 91st Indianapolis 500. This news makes me want the month of May to come even faster.
-Brienne Pedigo has been added to ESPN/ABC's broadcasting crew for IRL events. Pedigo joins commentators Marty Reid and Scott Goodyear, and fellow pit reporters Jack Arute and Vince Welch. Pedigo will certainly provide fans with some eye candy on the telecasts. Pedigo pictured left working for the Outdoor Channel during last July's USAC race at the Milwaukee Mile. (A CSMoses Photo)
-AJ Foyt IV will keep his ride with Vision racing after his DUI charge on Tuesday. He will begin the season with his new team March 24 at the Miami-Homestead Speedway.
-In a bit of irony, Foyt IV's grandpa AJ has a new sponsor. Sammy Hagar, formally the lead singer of Van Halen and a successful solo artist has signed his Cabo Wabo Enterprises on with Foyt Racing as an associate sponsor. Cabo Wabo is a premium brand of tequila.
-AJ Foyt is celebrating his 50th season in Indy Car racing. Supertex will always be a hero of mine.
