In other news...

It looks like I-80 is playing the percentages and pushing back their two day ASCS to Saturday and Sunday. While this is a good idea, it sort of puts me in a bind. Sundays right now are not a good night for me with class the next day, especially when I have two tests Monday. Somehow I think I'll find time to study and check out the show if they are able to run.

Cheers go out to Eagle Raceway and their long-awaited installation of a catwalk along the backstretch. That should provide an interesting perspective to watch the races. Maybe when I'm in the pits I can just camp out there instead of my normal habit of getting in everyone's way.

I've seen rumblings that Tony Stewart and Steve Kinser are working on some type of deal together. The smart money would suggest that it involves Tim Keading's future. It's still hard for me to fathom that SKR cannot find a sponsor for Keading's car. It appears that perhaps the King is going to park the 11K for now, and Keading will run for Stewart. Or the other version is Stewart is going to send some funding to the 11K car to keep Tim running. Of course, this is all purely speculation at this point, and may ultimately lead to nothing. It will be an interesting story to watch develop.

On the USAC front, there is a rumor that Darren Hagen is out of the Jeff Walker sprinter and will instead run for the Kunz team. That's landing on both feet if you ask me.

Roger Penske's son will compete against his dad in the 91st Indy 500. Jay Penske is heading up Luzco Dragon Racing, with Ryan Briscoe as his driver. There are still strong ties to Roger, as the car Briscoe is driving will be leased from Team Penske. Briscoe is also drives for Roger in the American Le Mans Series.

According to the Indianapolis Star's Curt Cavin, Al Unser Jr. may drive a special 50th Anniversary Edition for AJ Foyt at Indy. Little Al is also to be inducted into the IMS Hall of Fame.
