Another blog worth reading.
The Indianapolis Star Newspaper has some of the best motorsports coverage in the country. A paper in Indy covering motorsports? No kidding. Their blogs are especially great to read on a daily basis.
The format is a question and answer type. This particular post deserves an award. Bravo sir, bravo.
"Question: I am so tired of all this so-called NASCAR "domination" stuff. Switch the 500 to accommodate 'dem boys? Ridiculous. Seems to me the stock car (well, used to be stock before they turned into CsOT) audience is off in numbers this year on TV and at the gates. Look, IRL is now a spec series, but it's got the best racing around of all the "major" series. F-1 is a parade, NASCAR is just a feature race (if you can call a "race" the opportunity to watch the start, go shopping for groceries and school supplies, mow the lawn and clean the garage before tuning back in to see if they've red-flagged the feature three laps before the end to spatter some oil-dry on the turns) after the day-before Beer race. If I want a 24-hour race, I'll go to the true thing in Daytona or Le Mans. And there is no venue anywhere -- anywhere! -- like the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. BTW, excellent response about journalists/entertainers (such as Despain)/writers for hire and journalistic ethics. It would make a fine subject for a seminar. (Paul, Winter Park, Fla.)
Answer: Is a response really necessary?! I think you nailed it.
